Starting to see the light!

Well, we still have a mess in the library, but we are finally starting to see the light!  We have almost finished going through all the books, labeling them, and reentering their information into the computer.  Our next step will be grouping them all together and then we will have to organize the books to put them back into alphabetical order.  I will start bringing classes in soon to explain the new organization and discuss genres more in depth.

BTW- I would like to give a shout out to all the students who have volunteered their time over the past couple of weeks!  :)

Boy What a mess!

I have made a huge mess in the library!  We are supposed to have books, but are they supposed pile everywhere?!?!?  I didnt realize we had this many books to take off the shelves! :)   Mrs. Lewlling, Mrs. Smith, and I are still working hard to go through all the books.  I appreciate your patience and promise that the new system is going to be amazing!  I am excited that you guys will be able to browse through the books, and be able to find likeness across the books located within a genre.  I think this will present a great opportunity for some of you guys to break out of your comfort zone and start reading books other than just the popular titles!  It's going to be great!

Genrefying the Collection

Have you noticed all the piles of books in the library??? That's because Mrs. Lewelling, Mrs. Smith, and I have decided to genrefy the fiction collection!  We will be going through every single book in fiction collection!  That's a lot of books!  We will be checking the books, and discarding books that are damaged or severely outdated.  While we are checking the books, we will sort the books and then place genre stickers on the backs of the spines!  This is going to be one HUGE project!!
